Went to dollar barn and they were closing their doors.everything was 75% off! I bought a bun ch of ribbon and wrapping paper,including winnie the pooh. Of course I had to come home and make matching gift cards and cards to mail.

I wanted to make a card that was all stamping and no Cricut to take to Krista's.I get a kick out of it even though it's not a great card!I had no conceived notion of what I was making other than a "person" made from  inanimate objects.As I was stamping, It "SPOKE" to me!!!!!(drama.....wait for it....) I guess I already gave it away with the title,but it reminded me of someone floating,thinking they're going to heaven! The clock{obvious),the single ticket,"return to sender" foot,wings(even more obvious) so I went with that and added "welcome to Paradise","air mail" and "Bon Voyage".The previous 2 stamps ruined the look  of the card for me,but the message gave me a chuckle,so there ya go.Maybe I should have titled this post "Stairway to Heaven".

Gear Head!

I tried to come up with another card (that needed inking) to take to Krista's house.I wound up making 4 similar cards and am still not satisfied.There's a little something "off" on each one.You would think I would've used each one as a lesson,but for some reason ,I tried to reinvent the wheel each time!

oldie but goodie

This is one of the first cards I made,experimenting with inking edges.I fell in love with ink and I've had inky fingers ever since..The background paper reminded me of an old faded western shirt. 

another krista card kit

The small card I thought I could use as a gift card.Originally the boots were to go with the "baby" card but there was no room.The next 2 are the same except for the embellishments. the panel reads "baby" repeatedly and is triple mounted.I have these card "parts" for Krista to ink and assemble!

My niece ,Tawnya, sent me this card for my b-day.(store bought version).I thought it was cute,so I duplicated it.Here's my version.The front reads "the doctor said to exercise and eat the right foods.......what?.........WHAT?.......

I made a better example of inking and stamping to take to Krista's house. I can't say it's my best work but I made 4 of them and just can't make another one right now. It's hard to see  but it reads"one of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting new discoveries.How true!!!! I know this ipso facto!!!

who's birthday?

I made this card to take to my niece's house.We're crafting this weekend and I wanted to bring examples of how inking can really enhance a card(plus she likes owls)Unfortunately, this is a terrible example!It required no inking at all! I tried inking it lightly but it really doesn't show. Oh well,I guess I'll have to make another card.......DARN IT!

I made this card for my sister,joan.(Harley's mom) She's not getting much support from HARLEY'S teacher and is kinda frustrated.I put a starbuck's card inside for her to take a break.

Harley came home with mostly a's and b's on his weekly work.Onthe inside of the card it reads"thar's something to crow about!" I also made a 3d rooster (noah's abc's) to put inside card.He might think it's corny(get it?) but I bet he puts it together, none the less.

I first made this card for Harley.The inside read "somebunny said you're doing great!" It looked so eastery I couldn't resist and made 2 more.Is it too feminine to send to my brothers?

easter cards for 2012.Inked the heck out of these cards but it doesn't really show.If I make them again I will use the caning stamp with a darker yellow ink.I tried honey color but that was too dark.

I made this trap from an oatmeal box ,paper plates,gem tack glue and felt.The band is black duct tape.

The inside of the card is going to read OF ALL THE THINGS I LOVE THE MOST......THE ONE I LOVE MOST IS YOU.Or something like that,I haven't quite worked it out yet.
